The story starts in 1965 in a small workshop at Marnaz. Now, four decades later, Bontaz is a world leader in automotive hydraulic functions.
1965 – 1980
Contract bar turning
After completing his studies at the National Clockmaking School in Cluses, Yves Bontaz set up a bar turning workshop in the family's barn.
He initially manufactured turned parts on a subcontract basis for local companies, then developed direct commercial relations with French automotive manufacturers and OEMs.
